		<description>Hey Zak, sure thing.  My understanding was that, since they are working in long takes, they may ask the actors to do one take faster, another slower, because they cannot adjust pacing later through cutting (or at least, want to avoid having to cut the long take).  So, if they have three scenes and each is a single shot, and each is 10 minutes, that could be a thirty minute first act. However, if they watch their edit and the film is moving too slow, they may want a take where the same action takes 8 minutes.  

I've seen directors bracket takes in different ways - sometimes if it is an emotional scene they may do it quieter and also shoot variations that get "bigger" so that they can make the choice of what "too much" or just enough in the editing room.  Essentially, the thought is that you don't just want to get a good take and move on, you may also want to give yourself options to work with in post.</description>
