Seven Days and Counting…

seven-days-and-counting

It’s one week before the world premiere of “Rainbow Around the Sun,” and my nervousness has finally given way to an overwhelming sense of excitement. Our master screening copy is in SXSW’s able hands, and with the technical side of things out of our hands, we’re able to focus on our ground game going in to the festival.

Late this week, our printed materials arrived from the printer and they look great. Our designer Bryan Clark really captured the madcap quality of the film and its music. Here’s a look at the poster in glorious 72dpi:

Of course, posters don’t really pull people in to screenings, but they do work to remind people of the film as they walk around downtown Austin, and they make lovely cast and crew gifts. For the real outreach at SX, we’ve got some special gifts planned that will make people feel like a part of the film, and some other items that will allow people to take a piece of “Rainbow” home with them.

You can catch the world premiere of “Rainbow Around the Sun” at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar, Saturday Night (the 8th) at 10:00. If you can’t make it then, we have two more screenings at the Alamo Lamar, Tuesday the 11th at 8:00pm and Saturday the 15th at 5:00pm.

We’re also excited to take part in a party on Sunday for IndieGoGo, a new social network for filmmakers and fans that could really be a breakthrough for indie filmmakers struggling to raise funds. We’re still getting together details for the party, but we’re looking forward to sharing the evening with Tom Quinn from the “New Year Parade.”

If you will be in Austin next week for SXSW, come by one of our screenings and say hello. We’ll be the ones with the rainbow buttons and dazed look in our eyes.
