Getting Back to Roots
Last week, as we wrapped getting the festival cut for “Rainbow Around the Sun” mastered, a sense of release came over us. It’s been a productive year and a half working on our first feature, and to be honest, it’s overshadowed some of the smaller things.
Matthew, Kevin and myself first started working together about two years ago on short films. Over the course of just a few months, before we began preproduction on Rainbow, we worked on about 10 shorts for various purposes. While the experience of working on “Rainbow Around the Sun” has been incredible, we thought an appropriate ceremonial experience was in order as we wrapped up post. What better way than to create a short in 24 Hours for the 3rd Annual 24 Hour Video Race put on right here in Oklahoma City and Tulsa Oklahoma. This experience two years ago, after all, is what motivated us to keep working and creating, and ultimately led to our first feature with our friend and producer Kim Haywood. So this past weekend, we got back to our roots, and after 24 Hours of sleep deprivation, we came through with an absolutely ridiculous piece of video. And it felt great!
Congratulations to all our fellow lab friends making their way out to the festival circuit. We’ll see you all very soon.
